the best films i have seen in the past week-or-so


Cemetery Junction
such a nice little british film. lots of handsome boys and perhaps the prettiest girl in the world. it also happens to be written and directed by ricky gervais, who helped create 'the office', which makes me think he's a very clever man.


The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
a really nice french musical in which, i kid you not, every damn line from every damn character is sung. thankfully, it's in french, so i was too transfixed by the subtitles (and the cast) to mind. a good half of the film is pretty awful and sad, but in the best way possible. and, of course, they're both so damn beautiful.
